So. Here’s the deal. I was supposed to always update my blog on Wednesdays, since I accidentally did so the first two times. But last night I had absolutely nothing to say and a Craft Party coming up. So I decided to leave it until Thursday evening, since I would have a lot more to tell you by then. And boy, do I!!
The awesome news first: I was featured on Urban Thread’s Blog (Stitch Punk) and for that I was so excited that I put the very first FREEBIE onto my webpage! Here you go! This is not my own idea – saw the text somewhere and fell in love. So I took out my pen and paper and wrote it down. Then I digitized it for an hour just to get it right. Man do I love it! Free for you to use as you wish, just don’t take ALL the creds, please ;)
So, on to the second most awesome thing to happen to me this week: the Etsy.com Craft Party. Sorry, I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to use the webpage where you were supposed to put the detailed information about the party. I did, however, make a FB-event, tell people about the party on Etsy Teams and even got some newspaper coverage! YES. Our local newspaper jumped at the idea of someone throwing a craft party – even if it was on the wrong day Finnwise. You see, here in Finland we actually go away to our summer cottages etc on 20th of June. It’s a thing. Don’t judge us. So that being said, there were only 6 participants the whole day. I held down the fort from 2pm till 8pm. It. Was. Brilliant!
I had arranged all my craft and entrepreneurship-related books around the sofa in my living room (yes, I hosted this party at my house, where I also work) and put my yarn stashes there. Sadly, only one yarn-inclined person came and she had her own knit with her. Upstairs I showed people how the embroidery machine works. I also dragged one table outside so we could spraypaint there, and on my kitchen table I made the main happening place. The theme was mostly painting on fabric and embroideries.
